The challenge

What the client needed.

Stock movement and daily takings were tracked by hand across a busy shop floor. Sales were written into a book at the counter, stock was counted when someone had time, and the two records rarely agreed. The owner only found out what had sold when the day was over and the figures had been added up.

Shrinkage was hard to trace because there was no record of who sold what, or when. New stock arrived without being logged against what was already on the shelves, and popular lines ran out before anyone noticed. The business was growing, but the way it was being run had not changed since it opened.

What we did

We started by walking the floor with the owner and the sales team to understand how goods moved from delivery to the shelf to the customer. Every product was then loaded into TranziPOS with its variants, sizes, prices and barcodes, and opening stock was counted and entered so the system began from an accurate position.

The counter was fitted as a single working unit: terminal, scanner, receipt printer and cash drawer, connected to a protected network point. Cameras were positioned to cover the counter and the stock area so that any transaction or stock movement could be matched to footage. Staff were trained on the till and the owner was trained on reporting and remote access.

The outcome

Sales and stock are now visible in real time to the owner, on site or remotely. Every sale is recorded against the staff member who processed it, and stock levels update as items are scanned. Low-stock alerts mean reordering is prompted by the system rather than by an empty shelf.

The owner no longer waits for an end-of-day tally to know how the shop has done. Counter footage can be reviewed alongside the transaction record when something does not add up. The shop runs the same way whether the owner is in the building or not.
