Home / Solutions / POS Systems / Supermarket POS

Supermarket POS built for queues, scales and thin margins.

Fast scanning across several lanes, weighed goods handled properly, and stock figures you can act on before the shortage becomes a loss.

Supermarket

On these margins, small leaks matter more than big ones.

A supermarket does not usually lose money in a single dramatic event. It loses it in slow leaks: goods that expire on the shelf, fast movers that run out on a Saturday, weighed items priced by eye, and promotions that were never switched off.

The system has to be quick enough that a queue never builds, and precise enough that a hundred small transactions a day still add up to a number you can rely on at closing.

What's included

What a supermarket floor needs.

Multi-lane checkout

Several tills sharing one product list and one set of prices, so no lane is ever out of step.

Weighing scale support

Scales connected to the till, so weighed goods are priced by the system rather than estimated.

Shelf and price labels

Labels printed from the same prices the till charges, which removes arguments at the counter.

Promotions that expire

Time-bound offers and bundles that switch themselves off, so a weekend price does not run all month.

Expiry and batch alerts

Short-dated goods surface early enough to be sold rather than written off.

Shrinkage reporting

Counted stock against expected stock, by category, so losses are visible while they are still small.

Deployment

How a supermarket rollout runs.

01

Floor and lane plan

We map the lanes, the power runs and the network before any hardware is quoted.

02

Catalogue build

Departments, categories, barcodes and supplier prices loaded and reconciled against a physical count.

03

Staged install

Lanes are fitted and tested in stages so the shop never closes for the changeover.

04

Cashier training

Every cashier is trained on their own lane, with a supervisor mode for overrides.

05

Post-go-live review

We return after the first full trading week to tune reports and fix habits.

Questions

What clients ask first.

Can the tills keep selling if the internet goes down?

Yes, on an offline or hybrid setup. Lanes continue to sell from local data and sync once the connection returns. For a supermarket we almost always recommend hybrid for exactly this reason.

Do you support weighing scales?

Yes. Scales are connected so weighed items are priced by the system. Which models we recommend depends on what you already own, and we check that during the survey.

How do we handle stock counting without closing?

Counts can be done by section, outside peak hours, with the system reconciling counted against expected figures per category rather than for the whole shop at once.

Can I run promotions across more than one branch?

Yes. Promotions are set centrally and applied at every branch, with reporting that shows what each offer actually earned.

Planning a supermarket fit-out or upgrade?

Tell us how many lanes you run and what you sell. We will scope the hardware, the catalogue work and the changeover.
